How to Find an Audience Before Your Book is Published
Instructor: Glenda Beall
Are you ready to submit your poems and short prose pieces but not sure where to begin?
Are you planning a chapbook or poetry collection?
Maybe you write fiction or write memoir and you are working on a manuscript.

Writers don't like to sell or market their work.
That is the business end of writing.

Writers don't realize they are responsible for 95 percent of the selling or marketing of their writing no matter how it is published.
If a book is on Amazon.com or on the shelf at Barnes and Noble and nobody knows it is there, who is going to purchase that book?

Successful authors make marketing plans long before their books are published. Some publishers want to see the marketing plan before they sign a contract. Some publishers want to know if the author is a good reader of his work or if he can speak well in public.

Learn what to do before your book is published and what you must do after the book comes out.

Entertain and Enlighten your Readers with your Life Stories.
How do we begin to write about our lives? Can we use dialogue, stories passed down from parents, and do we have to prove they are true? In today’s world where family members often live long distances from each other, it is difficult to share the interesting lives we have lived. There seems to be no time to sit on the porch and talk about the past. But we can still share our life experiences with our children, grandchildren and future generations by writing them now. In this class we will write entertaining as well as enlightening short pieces and receive feedback from our classmates.
