Warmth of Other Suns discussion group
To provide a forum for exploring our country’s long history of racial injustice and how we can each do our part in the work of racial healing, in the new year, City Lights Bookstore in Sylva, NC, will host a Zoom discussion of The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration, Isabel Wilkerson’s 2010 history of The Great Migration.
Winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award, The Warmth of Other Suns became a New York Times and national bestseller, garnering half a dozen juried prizes. The book appeared on more than 30 Best of the Year lists, including The New York Times’, Amazon’s, The New Yorker’s, The Los Angeles Times,’ The Washington Post’s, and The Boston Globe’s, among others. Toni Morrison called it "profound, necessary, and a delight to read."
