Before the Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 2nd come by City Lights Bookstore at 2 p.m. for the book launch of Kim Michele Richardson’s new novel The Sisters of Glass Ferry. The book has earned an OKRA PICK award and has been described as a haunting portrait of life in the backwoods of moonshine country in the mid 20th century. The bestselling author of Water For Elephants, Sara Gruen, will join Kim Michele to celebrate the release of The Sisters of Glass Ferry and to talk about books and writing. Gruen had this to say about The Sisters of Glass Ferry, “An emotionally resonant tale of secrets, regret, and absolution that held me spellbound. You simply have to read it." There will be plenty of Sisters of Glass Ferry-themed snacks and goodies available as well.
Kim Michele Richardson is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and an advocate for the prevention of child abuse and domestic violence. She is also the author of the novels GodPretty in the Tobacco Field and Liar's Bench. Kim Michele resides in the rolling hills of Kentucky with her family and is hard at work on her next novel. Additionally, Kim Michele is a book critic for The New York Journal Of Books, and a contributor to HuffPost. She lives in Kentucky and resides part-time in her beloved, adopted small town in Western North Carolina.
