John Parris was a Sylva native and long-time columnist for the Asheville Citizen-Times.  His columns on Appalachian culture, history and folkways were collected into several books.  Line drawings are by his wife, Dorothy Paxson Parris.   We generally aim to keep at least one copy of this classic collection in-stock.   Currently we have a good condition first edition sans jacket, with green cloth boards.  It is NOT autograhed, but let us know if you would like help locating a signed copy.  The image below is a stock cover from a later printing.
