City Lights Bookstore is in Sylva, North Carolina, a small Main Street town tucked in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Our goal is to share the literature of the Southern Appalachian region with the world, and the world of books with our community.
Sylva resident, Penny Graham will visit City Lights Bookstore to present and read from her new book, The Button Sisters on Saturday, December 8th at 3 p.m. The Button Sisters, illustrated with the help of Roger Bacon, is for beginning to immediate readers from 6 to 9 years old and is a heartwarming story about the unusual relationship that develops between a little girl and her great-grandmother. Offering lessons on friendship, family dynamics and ancestry, The Button Sisters, is a great choice for the independent reader or as a read-out-loud book for teachers.
