City Lights Bookstore is in Sylva, North Carolina, a small Main Street town tucked in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. Our goal is to share the literature of the Southern Appalachian region with the world, and the world of books with our community.
Al Maginnes and Brent Martin will visit City Lights Bookstore to share their poetry on Saturday, February 2nd at 2 p.m. Acclaimed local musician, Angela Faye Martin will also provide music.
Maginnes teaches at Wake Tech Community College in Raleigh and is the author of several collections of poetry including, Inventing Constellations which was released this past September. He has been the recipient of a Writer’s Fellowship from the NC Arts Council.
Brent Martin is a local artist and poet and has published two collections of poetry, Poems from Snow Hill Road and Shout in the Woods. He has also been featured in the North Carolina Literary Review. His artwork is currently on display at City Lights Cafe.
