Lawrence Thackston will be at City Lights on Saturday, October 9th at 7:00 p.m. to read from his new thriller, entitled The Devil's Courthouse. Cole Whitman, a ranger with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, is called in  to investigate the brutal killing of a man who had been fishing in the park's tranquil waters. The normally reclusive black bear is first targeted as the perpetrator, but then the body count continues to rise and new clues are discovered. Tensions between the Park's neighbors  in Cherokee add to the suspense, which climaxes at a showdown at the Devil's Courthouse.
